Surround yourself with support.

You are loved and valued!

Connect with others who support you and your decisions surrounding your sexuality. Consider meeting with one of our counselors to work through some of the challenges you may be facing.

Your emotions matter.

When someone disagrees with your choices, remember you can leave a conversation unfinished.

Manage your stress.

Take care of yourself.

Get an adequate amount of sleep, eat properly, hydrate yourself, and exercise. Proper physical health will help energize you to take on the world.

Find a creative outlet.

Do something you enjoy.

Find something you're passionate about! You may find that having a creative outlet allows you to express yourself openly (whether it be music, dancing, painting, etc.).

Seek out resources.

There is strength in numbers.

Consider joining the Pride Club here on campus. At times, when there has been enough interest, the counseling center has offered groups specific to the LGBT community; if you have an interest in this as a resource, contact the Counseling Center at 435.283.7136.
